An Aussie lawn enthusiast who lashed out a guest at his Airbnb rental over the treatment of the front yard has received a mixed response from the public after posting his complaint online.
Eddy Kendall was left frustrated after one of his guests repeatedly drove the car across parts of the front lawn instead of staying on the driveway.
Kendall shared images captured by the property’s security cameras to the NSW Lawn Fanatics Facebook page.
“Don’t bother having a nice lawn if you have a Airbnb,” Kendall said.

This guest has been using it for turning and for parking on at night over the last three days, turning the already struggling couch (grass) to mud.”
It is not known why the guest was parking on the lawn but any possible reason for the act was made all the more confusing by the fact the driveway was a drive-through with two entry points which meant there was no need to move the vehicle onto the lawn to turn around and exit the property.
Some members of the public were quick to point out the lawn didn’t look that great anyway so it didn’t really matter what the guest had done.

“That lawn is bad … you need to work on it. There is no significant damage that some healthy rain and fertiliser could help/bring some life back to it. Looks like it’s crying for help …. Don’t blame the vehicle,” one person said.
But Kendall challenged criticism of the lawn, saying:
“For all the ‘experts’ saying how bad the grass is. It is couch grass. It goes dormant in winter. It is not biologically possible to stop couch grass from going dormant.
“A month ago it was very green and end of August it will be very green and healthy again.”

Others commenting on the situation were split into two camps: Those who thought Kendall should find something more important to complain about and those who thought the guest was out of line for parking on the lawn.
“There’s bigger fish to fry bud. Just be thankful that you are doing well enough to own not one but two homes. Some never get the chance to own one,” one person said.
“I’m sure your $500/night fee can cover it,” another joked.
“Oh … my … gosh! WHY are people so darn stupid,” another person said.
“Send the person a bill for the lawn repairs. There is absolutely no reason for them to have done this other than complete stupidity and disregard,” commented another.
