Netball great Laura Geitz and her husband Mark Gilbride have purchased a beachfront apartment
Aussie sport hall of famer Laura Geitz has added a $4.65m luxury beachfront escape to her property portfolio as she embarks on the renovation of an acreage estate.
The former national netball captain holidayed on the Gold Coast with husband, Mark Gilbride, and their four children after purchasing the newly built unit in the Rockpool building at Rainbow Bay.
Records show the fifth-floor oceanview property last traded for $3.025m in 2021, with its resale to the couple adding a cool $1.625m just months after the completion of the high-profile project.

The 38-year-old Queensland Firebirds legend retired from netball in 2018, the same year she and Gilbride paid $2.2m for a character home on 1.09ha in the leafy outer Brisbane suburb of Brookfield.
Geitz, who was last year inducted into the Sports Australia Hall of Fame, shared an update on their renovation plans to social media.
“We’ve been sketching plans, dreaming up ideas, and slowly imagining how this old beauty will look and feel in her next chapter.
“Every board, beam, and corner has a story, and we can’t wait to add ours.
“Early 2026 is when the real transformation happens. The dust, the chaos, the triumphs, the little moments that will turn this house into a home that’s both lived in and loved.”

An easy flow between indoor and outdoor living zones
The athlete grew up on a cattle and grain farm in the small Darling Downs town of Allora.
Her three-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday property at 502/154 Marine Pde, Coolangatta was sold by Mitchell Lambert and Joseph Pimentel, of Pezet Matheson.
Mr Lambert said Rockpool stood out for the buyers due to its elevated design by architect Joe Adsett and position overlooking the renowned Superbank surf break at Snapper Rocks.
“It really is an incredible position with views that will never be built out,” Mr Lambert said.
“This was a rare chance to secure a skyhome in a tightly held collection of just 20 residences.
“We were so grateful to be able to assist such genuine people with their purchase.”

The apartment spans 245 sqm of living space with a focus on privacy, natural light, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Rockpool’s subtropical modern design comprises soft curved forms, full-height glazing, and natural materials complementing its coastal environment.
Property features include expansive open-plan living and dining areas flowing to a balcony with built-in barbecue.
