A rural sanctuary with custom home, granny flat, tons of shed space, hay production and established veggie gardens has hit the market a short drive from suburbia.
Owners Jenny and Garry bought the property at 64 Mocatto Rd, Acacia Hills about 14 years ago and built their dream home on the dry 8.08ha block four years later.
Jenny said their must-haves for the spacious home included high ceilings, big rooms and lots of timber accents.
“It’s not a fancy house,” she said.
“It’s a very user-friendly, laid-back house, but it is finished really well.
“The timber flooring came from the reserve at Berry Springs.
“My husband milled it all and we had it tongue-and-grooved by a (local) guy.”
The semi-elevated house is set back from the road and has a large front veranda that catches the morning sun and offers afternoon shade.

The two remaining bedrooms have built-in robes while one also has access to the veranda.
The home has a family bathroom, walk-in linen closet and a screened rear veranda with laundry.
The front veranda has easy access to the in-ground pool, which has paved surrounds and garden views.

Jenny said the property was in a quiet and peaceful location but had plenty to keep them busy.
“My husband makes hay for horses and we have a big vegetable garden,” she said.
“We’ve got lots of tropical fruit, including passionfruit and pineapples, and we’ve got tomatoes, pumpkins, capsicums, lots of herbs and a couple of fig trees.”
There is 10 acres of jarra that has been the ground eight years in a clear, clean paddock, plus a patch of one-year-old Rhodes grass, all producing quality hay for extra income.
The property has a separate granny flat with bedroom, bathroom, living area, veranda and carport.
Plus there is almost 700 sqm of under-roof shed space across three sheds, including a hay shed and a machinery shed.
There is a long bitumen driveway, two registered bores, rainwater infrastructure, quality fencing and covered truck parking.
