Why more Melbourne buyers are chasing terrace-style apartments in the city

For a long time, buyers seeking outdoor space looked to the suburbs, but their attention is now shifting in a different direction.Buyers are being more open-minded about what that outdoor space could be, with terrace-style balconies, shared landscaped gardens and community recreation facilities in communities close to the city, growing in appeal.“We’re seeing buyers in their 30s and 40s who, previously, would have started their family and moved far out of the city, but are now rethinking that picture,” says Michael Koschar, Sales and Marketing Director, OSK Property Australia. “They are happy to swap a backyard for a terrace and live somewhere where they get their time back.”Part of their vision is also about having flexible spaces and on-site amenity such as shops and childcare. Mr Koschar says AURA at Melbourne Square – by developer OSK Property and designed by COX Architecture – has these buyers in mind.
