West Capital Lending (WCL) announced on Tuesday that it has hired Michael Cecero, who is bringing a 33-person team and about $325 million in annual production to the company. The addition expands WCL’s presence in Franklin, Tennessee, and Columbia, Missouri, while adding a direct-to-consumer operation focused on recruiting, licensing and developing loan officers. “This is a massive addition for West Cap,” Daniel Iskander, co-founder of West Capital Lending, said in a statement. “Michael isn’t just an incredible producer. He’s built a real business with great people, strong leadership and a model that can scale.” Cecero began his mortgage career at age 21 after finishing his college football career. He joined Veterans United Home Loans, where he spent eight years and was involved in more than 3,000 VA purchase closings. He later joined loanDepot, where he closed nearly 1,500 loans in less than four years. In 2021, Cecero funded 706 units totaling more than $242 million, according to the company.
