Townsville’s home prices have fallen for the first time in more than three years, as federal budget and interest rate fears fuel the nation’s real estate drop. PropTrack’s Home Price Index for July 2026 revealed the area’s median home price dipped 0.07 per cent, the first decrease since March 2023. The town joins the downturn seen throughout Queensland and the rest of the country, with Brisbane and national medians both falling 0.3 per cent over the month.
