Residents of a US community are up in arms over the decision by its homeowners association to ban the use of security cameras in the community. Homeowners in the Bent Creek Townhomes community in Nolensville, Tennessee, are pushing back against a newly announced homeowners association policy that strictly prohibits exterior-mounted security cameras, except for doorbell cameras, Realtor reports. Under rules approved by the Bent Creek Townhomes HOA board, residents have a one-month window to remove unauthorised cameras or face financial penalties A letter from the HOA noted that “the intent of this policy is to allow homeowners the ability to use a doorbell camera for security purposes while maintaining consistent architectural standards and protecting the privacy of neighbouring residents. It clarifies that the doorbell camera “may not be directed or positioned primarily toward another homeowner’s residence, private areas, or other areas where a reasonable expectation of privacy exists.” MORE: ‘F***ing tax them’: Man’s $3m dog home fight ‘Hated it’: Man pays no bills after $11k move Man buys entire town for $1.9m, regrets it Residents of a US community are up in arms over the decisi...
