Stellar MLS launched a public-facing home search portal that delivers listings directly from the MLS without advertising, paid placement or lead-selling, the company announced Tuesday. The new platform, Stellar MLS Home Search, gives the Altamonte Springs, Florida-based MLS more than 75,000 customers a consumer-facing site they can direct clients to for listing information sourced from the MLS itself. The move comes as portals, MLSs and brokerages reassess home search strategies and data controls in a shifting commission and listing-portal environment. Stellar positions the product as a way to support, rather than compete with, its brokers and agents.
