REMAX, Keller Williams win final approval of Batton 1 settlement

REMAX and Keller Williams have received final approval of their homebuyer commission lawsuit settlement agreements in the Batton 1 lawsuit. Judge LaShonda Hunt, who is overseeing both of the Batton lawsuits, granted final approval to both settlements this week after a fairness hearing on Tuesday. According to the orders filed by Judge Hunt, the court found the settlement fair and adequate. She noted that no settlement class members objected or opted out. Class members have until August 25, 2026 to submit claims. The order notes that the approved settlement fund will be distributed later under the court-approved plan. Due to the final approval of these settlements, the case is dismissed against REMAX and Keller Williams. Keller Williams first announced its settlement of the Batton lawsuit in early February 2026, while REMAX announced its settlement in late March 2026. Per the agreements, Keller Williams will pay $20 million into the settlement fund, while REMAX will pay $8.5 million.
