PLACE has acquired mortgage technology provider Maxwell, continuing a string of acquisitions aimed at building an end-to-end homeownership ecosystem. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Maxwell will allow PLACE to directly serve mortgage lenders, banks and credit unions the same way it serves agents and real estate teams, a PLACE spokesperson told HousingWire. “Now we’re building and investing in the vertical as a major pillar of the business strategy at PLACE and continue to explore additional opportunities to grow, organically and inorganically, in mortgage technology and services,” the spokesperson added. Maxwell, which services more than 400 financial institutions and supports more than $130 billion in annual mortgage transactions, will continue to operate as an independent company. The spokesperson said all of Maxwell’s more than 100 employees joined PLACE, with no jobs impacted in the transition.
