Lennar has entered the Des Moines market with the start of sales at five new communities across central Iowa, marking the homebuilder’s first-ever homebuilding operation in the state. The company, ranked second by sales volume in HousingWire’s Homebuilder Rankings, said the new Iowa division is launching with Cross Creek, Deer Run, Southbridge, Spring Creek Ridge North and Woodbury, which together establish Lennar’s initial footprint across the Des Moines metro. Model homes at all five communities are scheduled to open to the public in October 2026, with appointments already available for prospective buyers. The move brings one of the nation’s largest production builders into a Midwest market where builders have been working to close a persistent inventory gap at attainable price points.
