Shaw was twice named to the All-Australian team and played 173 games for Collingwood, including their 2010 Grand Final victory, before a 152-game career at Greater Western Sydney. He collected the Kevin Sheedy Medal in 2015, as well as a nomination as an AFL Rising Star in 2006 and an ANZAC Medal, 2007.
