If you’re anything like me, you’re counting down the days until your kids move out of home. If you’re anything like me, you’ve told them this. If you’re anything like me, you’ve told them this daily. But moving out of home is apparently expensive. Rent is costly, they’ll tell you. Mortgages are huge, they’ll tell you. Competition is massive and all of the stuff you need for a home costs a fortune, they’ll tell you. And to that I say: “Correct, correct, correct, and rubbish.” If you’re smart, and you don’t need to have the latest and the best (which I’ve no intention of buying for my kids) you really don’t have to spend that much at all to get them out of your hair. Heck, I’ve scoured Facebook Marketplace and have found I can buy them pretty much everything they’d need to move out – bar things like bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery and glassware (cos bugger ‘em, they can buy those themselves) – for less than five pineapples.
