North Bethesda, Maryland-based Bright MLS has hired Steve Mapes as executive vice president of growth and strategy, according to an announcement on Tuesday. Mapes joins Bright from First MLS (FMLS), where he served as chief revenue officer. The newly created role at Bright is focused on expanding the multiple listing service’s market presence and accelerating its long-term growth strategy. Prior to FMLS, Mapes spent more than a decade at Lone Wolf Technologies in brokerage software and transaction management, MLS operations and business technology. Bright MLS said his experience will support its efforts to broaden its role beyond that of a traditional MLS. “Steve is one of the most respected leaders in organized real estate,” Brian Donnellan, president and CEO of Bright MLS, said in a statement. “He understands where our industry has been, but more importantly, where it’s going.
