Batesford homeowners have scored a huge windfall after selling off their tennis court and surplus backyard for more than $1m. A 24-year-old Geelong man who scrimped and saved to secure his dream acreage home site beat strong competition for the subdivided corner block. He paid $1.03m for the 4033sq m parcel of land at 41 Madden Ave, Batesford, where he plans to build a Hamptons-inspired house.
