Two big deals in ‘dry July’ in Sydney’s east

In the space of a week, former chairman of Wesfarmers Bob Every and his wife Sheryl sold their Elizabeth Bay waterfront apartment for $22m and bought a Potts Point penthouse for $13m. Both deals were negotiated by Jason Boon, the Richardson & Wrench gun, and James Agostini of Agostini Property Buyers, Dr Every’s vendor and buyer’s advocate. Agostini says his client is pretty chuffed. Dr Every, AO, has offloaded the 300sqm single-level garden apartment in the BKH-designed 28 Billyard Ave, bought off the plan for $4.4m in 2001, for $22m. And promptly downsized to Sydney to Hobart winner Matt Allen’s pad in the Dorchester, listed with $15.5m+ hopes in February via Boon and his colleague, Geoff Cox, for $13m. “He’s very excited about the Dorchester,” says Agostini.
