Fresh off their blockbuster tour to Australia, rock legends Oasis are set to touchdown in South America for the final leg of a 2025 world tour, but behind the screaming fans and music remains a stark money difference between singer Liam Gallagher and guitarist brother Noel.

The frequently feuding brothers are the main players in the same band, but it turns out that over the nearly 30 years they’ve been a household name, one brother has out-earned the other.

The band’s 2025 world tour will reportedly pocket each brother £50m ($100m).

But prior to the tour, guitarist and songwriter Noel’s net worth was reported to be an estimated US$70m ($106m), while Liam’s fortune was estimated at about US$6m ($9.16m), according to The Mirror.

Noel’s higher wealth has been reported to be largely due to his role as main songwriter, producer and rights-owner of the Oasis catalogue.

It’s a gulf often attributed to the fact that Noel wrote the hits like Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger and thus bags the lion’s share of royalties.

Both brothers have been divorced twice, with Noel most recently ending things with ex-wife Sara MacDonald in 2023, leading to a huge payout.

Liam has experienced two publicly messy divorces, first to actor Patsy Kensit and later to All Saints singer Nicole Appleton – the latter of which unravelled following an affair with US journalist Liza Ghorbani.

It’s understood that Noel has also made his money work harder for him — planting it in solid bricks and mortar:

During Oasis’s early years, Noel’s first property play came in the form of a £2.5m ($5m) cliffside villa in Ibiza, which he eventually sold in 2009 after a decade.

His second purchase, a £2m ($4m) townhouse in Belsize Park, Camden, came in 1997.

The property which Noel dubbed ‘Supernova Heights’ became part of Britpop folklore in the two years that he lived there.

Embodying a live forever attitude, Noel garnered quite the party boy reputation at Supernova Heights. In 2019 he told The Daily Mirror he regretted “letting [his] house turn into a nightclub.”

He sold the property in 1999 for £3.25m ($6.5m), a £1.25m ($2.5m) increase on what he paid just two years prior.

After selling the property, Noel moved to Hertfordshire (north of London) with then-wife Meg Matthews, before their divorce in 2001.

Gallagher paid Matthews £4m ($8m) in the divorce settlement.

His next publicised property move was the £8m ($16m) purchase of a five-bedroom villa in northwest London’s Little Venice in 2010.

A year later he would go on to marry now-ex-wife Sara MacDonald, with the two going big on an £8m ($16m) mansion in the Hampshire countryside in 2019.

All the while Noel struggled to sell his slice of Little Venice, putting it on the market for £11m ($22m) in 2016, before ultimately selling it for a rumoured fee of £8m ($16m AUD), making no return on the home after six years.

Following their divorce, initial reports suggested MacDonald would gain possession of the 18th-century mansion in Hampshire.

However, The Sun reported in December 2024 that Noel was now the sole owner of the property.

The Sun also reported that Noel paid £20m ($40m) as part of the divorce settlement.

Oasis’ frontman lived in Manchester for the band’s first two records, before moving to London with his actor wife Patsy Kensit in 1997.

The couple lived in a four-storey, semi-detached townhouse in Primrose Hill in London’s North West, before divorcing after over three years.

The rock ‘n’ roll star stayed in the area with his second wife, singer Nicole Appleton, buying a two-bedroom cottage on the Vale of Health, Hampstead.

The couple went on a spending spree over the years, snapping up a £3m ($6m) house in Oxfordshire and a €2.5m ($4.44m) apartment in New York City.

They would separate in 2014, with reports later emerging that Gallagher had fathered a secret child with American journalist Liza Ghorbani.

The Daily Mail reported that Liam ran up more than £800,000 ($1.6m) in legal bills over the course of divorce settlements, with it eventually being ruled that Gallagher’s assets would be split in half with both parties receiving nearly £5.5m ($11m).

Ghorbani filed a £2m ($4m) lawsuit for child support in 2013, and later filed for a significant increase in child support payments in March 2025.

Liam reportedly now lives with his fiancee and manager Debbie Gwyther at a £4m ($8m) mock Tudor 1920s mansion in Highgate, north London.

The 16,000 sqm property includes a gym, sauna and ballroom.

In 2023 the couple spent another £4m ($8m) on a six-bedroom chateau in Cannes, France.

They purchased the home from British presenter Noel Edmond, who reportedly engraved his name throughout the property.

A source told The Sun that Liam and Debbie “think all the carvings of Noel’s name are quite funny and ironic.”

Having been all around the world this year, it won’t be long before the Gallagher brothers slide away to the mansions they call home.
