Reclusive Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney has traded his multimillion-dollar luxury property in Victoria for the Moroccan desert as his return to Aussie television reportedly gets underway.
Moloney, who played Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi aka Toadie in Neighbours from 1995 to 2025, will star in Channel 7’s SAS Australia revival next year.
Filming is taking place for SAS Aus v Eng, which will pit a team of Aussie celebrities against a team of celebs from the UK.
Shot in the Moroccan desert, the show will through the celebrities into military-style challenges that test their mental and physical strength.
The reality show will mark Moloney’s first return to the national spotlight since Aussie soap Neighbours was axed for a second and final time last year.
Moloney has kept a low profile since Neighbours wrapped, going off the grid with his family following a quick tour of the UK in September 20245 with his sellout show Toad on the Road: An Evening with Neighbours’ star Ryan Moloney.

Moloney’s last post on social media was January this year via the honey farm business he owns with wife Alison.
Since then, though, the Aussie public had not heard from the man formally known as Toadfish until Channel 7’s SAS reveal last month.
The actor, with an estimated net worth of $6.2 million, sold his Melbourne house for an undisclosed price. It was listed with $1.2 million hopes. He bought the property at a late 2007 auction for $1.09 million.

In 2022, Moloney sold his luxurious Mornington Peninsula acreage a week before the beloved Australian show was originally axed.
The sprawling Merricks property sold for an undisclosed price between $6m and $6.3m on February 25.
Seven days later, on March 3, news broke that the show would cease production after 37 years after UK-based Channel 5 announced plans to cut it from their scheduling.
The actor and his wife Alison had lived at the four-bedroom residence since 2015, enjoying the property’s pool, gym, half basketball court, barn, riding arena and stables.
In 2022, Moloney sold his luxurious Mornington Peninsula acreage a week before the beloved Australian show was originally axed.
A study, north-facing outdoor entertaining area, main bedroom with an ensuite and dressing room, a dam, an orchard, a chook pen, and 280,000L of water storage were all included in the property package.
These days the actor and his family live off-grid in the Mornington Peninsula and Dandenong Ranges. They generate their own power and manage their water supply.
He has two children Erin, 18, and Jack, 17, with wife Alison.
The transition from rural Victorian living to brutal SAS Aus v Eng challenges will no doubt be a culture shock for Moloney.
The Australian cast includes Jessika Power, Moloney, and fellow Neighbours alum Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

Ex-Kyle and Jackie O producer Joshua Fox claimed on his podcast MAFS Funny, which has more than 1 million downloads, Moloney’s stint on SAS Aus v Eng is already the subject of controversy.
In an episode released last month, Fox claimed sources had informed him Moloney and Power were not getting along.
“I also have news of Jessica P’s bizarre new feud with one much-beloved Australian actor that I guarantee none of you saw coming,” Fox told his listeners.
“This is where things get interesting because I’m told apparently Jess and Toadie do not get along … and you could also say they hate each other.”
