SA’s best builders have been recognised at the HIA South Australia Kitchen & Bathroom and Housing Awards.
And the star of the show was Metricon, which was crowned professional major builder of the year for the 10th time.
Metricon general manager Neil Bisset said it reflected sustained excellence across design, construction, customer experience, and innovation.
“This achievement is a testament to the passion and dedication of our South Australian team,” said Neil Bisset, General Manager, Metricon South Australia.

“Being recognised by the HIA for the tenth time highlights the consistency and quality that underpin everything we do, from innovative design to exceptional customer care.”
“These awards celebrate the strength of our teams and the quality of our homes.
“They reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and delivering homes Australians truly love.
“None of this would be possible without the support of our valued business partners, dedicated trades, and loyal customers who continue to trust us to bring their dream homes to life.”

Desyn Homes were also solid performers, winning awards for home of the year, outdoor project, renovation/addition project, country home, and outdoor kitchen.
HIA SA executive director Stephen Knight said he was blown away by the calibre of this year’s entrants.
“I’ve been in the building for 40 years and every year they lift the bar and what I’m seeing across all of the categories is really excellent work,” he said.

“There are some really strong contenders for national awards here, I think.
“There’s lots of innovation there and lots of high quality work and we’re finally catching up with other states in terms of the amount of money the client has to spend.

“We’ve always been dragged down by the fact that people weren’t spending as much as they were in the eastern states, but now with people having more equity in their homes or making more money, while it was rare to see a $1m build five years ago is commonplace and $2 and $3m builds are not uncommon.”
The more than 300 submissions were assessed by a panel of 25 judges.
