Prefabricated housing or prefab, refers to a method of construction in which much of the dwelling is built off-site before being transported to the location for final assembly. Prefabrication and modern methods of construction have steadily become part of the conversation around boosting housing supply, as Australia works towards delivering 1.2 million new homes by mid-2029.
