The Walkerville home at 24b Church Tce was a Home Lottery Prize Home.

A couple of savvy sellers are hoping to turn a $500 investment into a multimillion-dollar windfall by selling the luxury Walkerville home they won last year.

Bill and Sandra paid $500 for a ticket package to enter the Hospital Research Home Lottery and won the grand prize – the $100-a-ticket lavish, fully-furnished four bedroom home at 24b Church Tce valued at $4.6m plus $50,000 in cash.

After moving in last October, the couple have enjoyed the home’s resort-style luxury over the past few months – even hosting a 50-guest engagement party for their daughter – but have since decided to sell it.

The property has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It’s modern throughout with luxe fixtures and fittings.

The owners say the home is ideal for entertaining.

“It’s simply too much house for just the two of us,” Bill said.

“We’ve loved every minute here, but we’re looking to downsize and move closer to the coast.”

He said it would best suit a family as it was a “premier entertainment space”.

Ray White Marion director Samuel Paton, who is selling the home with fellow agent Ryan McCarthy, agreed.

“It’s perfectly suited for a family that values high-end entertainment and architectural excellence,” he said.

The listing comes as another former prize home in Beaumont recently went under offer after months on the market.

The three bedroom house at 16 Penarth Ave, which was a prize in a 2024 draw of the St John Lottery, has been listed with multiple agents since February last year.

Most recently it was listed with a $3.295m to $3.5m asking price, but the sale price is unknown.
