15 Vigneron Ave, Batesford, is selling via expressions of interest through Abercrombys agent Sam Goddard.
It took more than seven months of Tetris for stonemason Jacob Lettieri to complete the 200sq m of stone cladding at this New Zealand-inspired farmhouse in Batesford.
Each piece of Howqua stone laid out on the ground, fitted together like a puzzle and then mounted to the wall brought vendor Jessica Newton and her young family a step closer to their dream country house.
Almost a year after moving in, standing back and admiring 15 Vigneron Ave from the privacy of their sprawling garden still brings a sense of satisfaction of a job well done.

The man living room has vaulted ceilings and country views.
“We had a very specific brief but were always obsessed with that New Zealand style farmhouse with all that beautiful outdoor stone. And we spend a lot of time in Port Fairy and they have got a lot of that beautiful Irish influence as well so we just knew we wanted to integrate that into the design,” she says.
“We carefully selected an architect who we thought could deliver that aspiration home but still keep it a family home, very liveable with really subtle luxury.”
Blasco Stuart Architects, interiors specialist Wright St Design and Bivano Builders teamed up to create the four-bedroom, four bathroom residence which takes the form of three pavilions linked by glass walkways.
Set on a 1.263ha block, its frames expansive views of the surrounding countryside, including a 60ha public reserve at the rear that stretches to the Moorabool River.
A central island bench is the centrepiece of the kitchen.
Ore design steel-framed windows and doors create glass walkways linking the home’s three wings.
The property’s back gate leads to a public riverside reserve.
The main open-plan living area is a central gathering space incorporating a sunken lounge with a Stuv fireplace, Kustom timber flooring and a kitchen featuring Calacutta Gold marble, SCLK cabinetry, V-ZUG and Miele appliances and a Falcon induction stove and oven.
An adjoining terrace is designed for year-round entertaining, with an outdoor Escea cooking fireplace and a swimming pool nearby.
“We like being in that outdoor space and looking back at our creation but also being in the living room with that main view looking out across the hills and the chickens, and the dog and the kids,” Ms Newton says.
Floor-to-ceiling steel-framed windows feature through the house, including in the private main bedroom suite.
“You wake up in the morning and you seriously can’t see another house in sight and it actually feels really spacious, which is why we chose those blocks towards the back,” she says.
The main living room links to a entertainer’s terrace.
The dressing room has a custom finish.
There are three separate living rooms at the house.
No expense has been spared on the fit out, as evidenced by the V-ZUG RefreshButler, an all-in-one unit which steam sanitises, dries and removes creases from clothes.
But the thing they have enjoyed most is the strong bonds forged within the estate.
“We have got a community that we are part of. All of the mums we go on a Sunday afternoon walk around the estate and the kids ride their bikes,” the vendor says. “We have got so many friends in the estate and it’s really safe.”
Abercrombys, Armadale agent Sam Goddard is handling the sale of 15 Vigneron Ave, Batesford.
He’s set a $4.3m to $4.6m price guide for the expressions of interest campaign closing on November 25.
