21 Osman St Bardon will now go to auction on February 14 at 9am

A newly built Bardon home has become much more than a project for its all-female development team, who not only created a five-bedroom luxury villa, but also each welcomed a baby during the build.

Completed in November, Villa Del Mar is the first joint project by family members Shadi Haddad, Chay Taffa, and Elise Vumbaca who each brought different strengths but a collective eye for detail to the two-year luxury build.

Haddad said the trio purchased the vacant block of land in 2023.

“We loved the location, the site was ready and it had development approval,” Haddad said.

“There was an existing design for the home, but we wanted to customise it, especially when it came to interior design.

“Our main vision was an open plan home with a coastal Mediterranean feel, and we wanted it to be a beautiful space for a family.

“We approached it like we were trying to build our own dream home.”

Spanning three levels, the residence enjoys an elevated leafy outlook and views to Mt Coot-Tha.

On the lower level, an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area connects with a covered entertaining space overlooking the pool.

The central level is home to a spacious guest bedroom and a two-car garage, while the upper floor features a sitting room, office, and four bedrooms, including an expansive master suite with private balcony.

“The most beautiful part is that you walk in and see these curves and high ceilings then through to the open plan living area, which is such a beautiful space for a family to host guests or come together,” Haddad said.

“The central living area and balcony really feels like you’re on holiday as it’s quiet and calming with beautiful natural light.”

Inside, the interior design is light and bright courtesy of a neutral colour palette and natural finishes.

“It’s got quite a neutral vibe, but there is this occasional pop of colour in places like the bathroom to add a bit of personality,” Haddad said.

Having completed building projects previously alongside her husband, Ms Haddad led the project but said each member brought individual strengths.

“We had such a ball doing it,” she said.

“We made every decision and came up with all solutions as a team.

“Then we’d delegate according to each of our strengths.”

If embarking on a building project wasn’t enough of a challenge, the trio also each welcomed a child during the build, with the name Villa Del Mar incorporating a subtle nod to the first letter of each of the children’s Christian names.

“We were all pregnant over the course of the project, so it was an incredible journey,” Haddad said.

While Villa Del Mar was the first project for the trio, Haddad said they’re keen to embark on further builds together in the future.

“You’ll see more of the three of us together for sure,” she said.

“But this villa embodies our dedication, love and the memories we’ve created along the way, making it a truly special home for any future family.”

Villa Del Mar is listed with Reuben Packer-Hill of Ray White Toowong-Chapel Hill.

It was set to go to auction at 2pm on Saturday, January 31, but the date was vacated after the magazine had gone to print.

The new auction date is set for February 14
