The sense of luxury and lifestyle appeal from this striking four-bedroom waterfront home matches its setting on Altona’s Esplanade.
The vendor says the location was what first appealed to him.
“A beachfront view in the buzzing little suburb of Altona was a major drawcard,” he says.
“I believe Altona is an untouched gem – it’s one of the last suburbs with beach frontage and so much potential.”
When purchasing the property, its appearance was vastly different from the unforgettable first impression its natural quartz stone facade now offers. But the vendor says there were good bones.
“The original home was built in the ’60s and had a great-sized footprint to work with and a whole lot of potential,” he explains.
“Upon the inspection, we recognised the value and structural integrity of the home’s existing ‘bones’ and made it a project that could be brought back to life.”

Although the home has been completely transformed, some original elements remain.
“The primary external shell of the home was retained,” the vendor explains.
“These days, the trend favours demolition, but there’s something to be said about peeling back the layers and bringing an old home into a new life.”
Working with a number of local tradespeople and building professionals, a new life was exactly what was achieved.
“We worked with Daniel, a second-generation carpenter from Compliant Carpentry Victoria/Compliant Cladding Victoria, and Meta – Morph(osis) Architects were also engaged to bring my vision to life,” he says.
The vision was inspired by Mediterranean style and what the vendor describes as “a holiday at home”.
“I envisioned flowing linen, curves, soft wood and statement marble in neutral tones,” he explains.
“Brushed copper fittings and fixtures throughout, giving a high-end finish with rustic charm.
“Commercial glazed windows were chosen to allow the internal and external features to blend and flow seamlessly, no matter the season outside.”
The vision was inspired by Mediterranean style.
The house has a price guide of $3.15m-$3.45m.
While high-end fixtures, appliances, features, and the beach views and natural light that fill the home through skylights and windows are spectacular, the vendor says the home’s external features are also standouts.
“I wanted the inside to flow to the entertaining area with stacking doors opening up to the pool area, a barbecue kitchen surrounded by a rainforest-inspired landscape to continue the holiday at home vibe,” he says.
“The beach frontage is lined by birds of paradise, clean concrete and a natural stone facade to tie into the Mediterranean vision.”
267 Esplanade, Altona, is listed by Anthony Christakakis of Jellis Craig Williamstown, with a price guide of $3.15m-$3.45m. Expressions of interest close on at 5pm on February 24.
